On Rama Navami
This is a message from Appa (based on conversations about Lord Rama)
The meaning of Rama is "one who delights" (ramathe ithi Raama).
There is a shloka:
Sri raama raama raamethi rame raame manorame
Sahasranaama thattulyam raama naama varaanane
"If you recite the name of Ram three times, it is equal to reciting
the entire Vishnu Sahasranamam or the thousand names of Vishnu. Such
is the greatness of this name"
The Math:
1. The alphabet "ra" is the second in the Devanagari script (in ya
ra la va) and the alphabet "ma" is the 5th in (pa pfa ba bha ma).
So Ra ma = 5 times 2 = 10
If you recite the name three times = 10x10x10 = 1000
2. Navami is the ninth day after the New Moon. The number 9 stands
for constancy - whatever you do with 9 you always get 9. This is
what Rama stands for - CONSTANCY.
Lastly:
Live as Lord Krishna "SAID" (and not as Krishna lived:-))
Live as Lord Rama "DID" (Rama did not give too many lectures)
